#26 ¿Que pasó? with Señor B - week of 9/22

The newsletter this week covers a range of intense, high-stakes topics, from allegations of corruption and bribery involving the administration's border czar and the inhumane use of a five-year-old child as bait by ICE agents, to the political battle over California's ban on masked federal officers and the ironic use of a revolutionary's quote by the Vice President.

Hola familia,

I wanted to share some of the analytics from the last couple of weeks for one of my social media accounts. The suppression on my page is getting out of hand! We lost over 60% viewership over the last few months; on other platforms our community continues to grow. Thank you so much for all the support you give me. It will not deter me from continuing on this mission.

I am going to start to post on YouTube more regularly as a way to safeguard the community. Please support me there if you don’t already! I always end up with hella conservative folks attacking me on that platform. Also I just posted a long video there and I’d love some love on it!

If you all would like to go above and beyond in supporting me please consider signing up for premium membership to help me keep this newsletter going! Sale bien caro to be honest pero its something I’m passionate about but all little donations help! Its basically buying me a coffee!

Below are stories of the week !

Trump’s Czar and the $50K Cash Payment

Familia, you already know this administration is no stranger to corruption, but this latest story is wild even for them. Multiple major outlets have reported that Tom Homan, who now oversees border security operations for the administration, was the target of a secret FBI probe last year.

Homan, who has publicly made it his mission to carry out the largest mass deportation in U.S. history and continuously spews dehumanizing lies about our community, was reportedly recorded on camera accepting $50,000 in cash from undercover FBI agents. The agents, posing as businessmen, were looking for help winning , immigration-related government contracts in a second term.

Sources indicate Homan was investigated for potential bribery, conspiracy, and fraud. However, shortly after this administration began, the Justice Department (led by Trump appointees) shut down the investigation, citing "no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing." Democrats in Congress are now demanding the release of the tapes, calling the case a clear example of corruption being covered up.

This goes beyond one person breaking the law; it exposes a culture of exploitation where the people put in charge of our community's fate appear to be prioritizing personal profit over public service. We must continue to shine a light on this corruption as they try to weaponize our tax dollars against our people.

ICE Agents Use a 5-Year-Old Child as Bait in Massachusetts

I have to share this because it is absolutely heart-wrenching and unacceptable. This past week in Massachusetts federal immigration agents crossed a moral line: they reportedly used a 5-year-old girl as a tactic to force her father to surrender.

The family stated that the agents grabbed the daughter and held her outside the house, essentially holding the child hostage hoping the father would come out and turn himself in. The sheer trauma and cruelty of using a little girl as bait is sickening and something no child, no human, should ever have to face. In the video shared by the family, you can hear the mother desperately demanding that her daughter be returned.

The father has lived in the U.S. for 22 years and has an active asylum case. While the agents eventually handed the daughter back, they showed up again days later and arrested him.

Este es un acto de pura maldad. The emotional impact this will have on that little girl and her family is devastating. This tactic is a horrifying new low that proves the cruelty of this administration’s policies. We must have a fierce and unified response to these kinds of kidnappings and continue to fight back against the dehumanization and terrorizing of our communities. This is only the beginning, and we need to stand together to protect our own.

Vice President Co-opts Zapata’s Words

This week, during the memorial for conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the Vice President used a phrase that instantly hit me as one of the deepest ironies I've heard in a while: "It’s better to die on your feet than to live on your knees."

As many of us know, this powerful quote is widely attributed to the Mexican revolutionary, Emiliano Zapata.

The irony is so thick you could cut it with a machete. Zapata was an icon of liberation, an advocate for indigenous and marginalized communities, and a man who fought fiercely against authoritarian governments and the powerful elites who stole land and opportunity from the people. He stood for Tierra y Libertad (Land and Liberty).

For the Vice President; a member of an administration whose policies target and actively dehumanize immigrant and marginalized people, to co-opt the rallying cry of a man who fought for the very people this administration seeks to oppress is beyond hypocrisy. It is a textbook example of colonizers trying to repackage a revolutionary message when it’s convenient for their own narrative.

It’s insulting, but at the bare minimum, it should make us pause and point out this disconnect. What do you all think?

1 Migrant Killed, 2 Injured in Dallas ICE Shooting

This week, the shooting at the Dallas ICE Detention Facility gave us another painful reminder of where the true violence is being directed. A shooter, identified as Joshua Jahn, opened fire on the facility and, tragically, killed one detainee and critically injured two others; all people in ICE custody, reportedly in a transport van at the time.

While federal authorities quickly framed this as a "targeted attack on ICE law enforcement" and found anti-ICE messages on the shooter's effects (who reportedly intended to target agents), the simple and devastating fact remains: the victims were detained migrants.

Despite this reality, officials like Secretary Kristi Noem put out statements emphasizing the "unprecedented violence" against law enforcement, failing to center the lives lost and forever changed. This intentional omission highlights what’s truly missing from the conversation: the heinous violence that ICE inflicts on our families every single day. The systemic violence of separation, detention, and dehumanization.

This administration is quick to blame "the left" for these acts, but the cycle is more vicious than a simple political talking point. When the state inflicts daily trauma by ripping families apart, as has been in full display during this presidency, it creates a climate of desperation and outrage that can be committed by anyone fed up with seeing our communities abused. We must never lose sight of who the real victims are and whose families need our support.

California Banning Masks for Members of ICE

In a major act of resistance, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a new bill this week outlawing federal agents, including ICE, from wearing identity-concealing masks while operating in the state. Dubbed the “No Secret Police Act,” this is the first law of its kind in the nation and directly challenges the authoritarian tactics we’ve seen increase under this administration.

The reasoning is simple and powerful: accountability and transparency. When masked, federal agents, often operating in unmarked cars and refusing to show badges, are shielded from oversight, making it impossible to hold them accountable for unlawful acts. Furthermore, this mask tactic makes it easier for criminals to falsely impersonate agents and kidnap people off the street, adding another layer of terror to our communities. Newsom put it plainly: officials have operated without masks for years, and this masking is simply a new tactic to terrorize Californians.

This move is a direct pushback against the mass deportation program and the "dystopian sci-fi movie" atmosphere it has created.

Of course, the backlash was immediate: The Department of Homeland Security quickly announced that ICE will not comply with the ban, claiming it puts their agents at risk due to a sharp rise in attacks. They have refused to release the data to back up these claims, forcing us to question their true motive. This is a clear indicator that accountability is what they fear most.

This law won't take effect until next year and is sure to be challenged in court, but it sends an unshakeable message: We will not stand by silently while our communities are terrorized by agents who seek to hide their identity.

Are ya’ll down for this? I love it.
