Hola a familia!

I can’t believe I’m going to ask this but please follow me on Facebook. Tiktok is becoming a very uncertain place so we are trying to grow everywhere.

For those that don’t know→ i do TikTok lives multiple times a week! One of the things that came from that was creating a Discord server for the community to be able to chat and share information. We are just launching it. Please join us!

Y como siempre if you appreciate what I do please consider signing up for a premium membership. Cuesta un chingo to keep the newsletter running (over 1k a year 🫠 ), but it is something I am truly passionate about. Every little donation helps, and it is basically like buying me a coffee!

Also please sign up to follow me on YouTube if you don’t already! Gracias

My bad! I feel like I am asking for a lot here 🙃

The Government Shutdown is NOT Immigrants’ Fault

The misinformation and outright lies about the government shutdown are getting ridiculous, and we have to call them out.

You've probably seen the narratives pushed by the MAGA crowd blaming immigrants. They are saying Democrats want to hold up the budget to give "illegals" healthcare; but that is a lie. The truth is, undocumented immigrants (the correct term) do not even qualify for federal programs like Medicaid.

This is nothing more than the same old script: fear-mongering and pointing the finger at a vulnerable group to distract from the real issues. It's a cheap political trick that hurts real people.

I recently had to call out a content creator spreading this exact lie. Instead of taking accountability, she just blocked me and continued her rampage. You can see the video below.

Familia, this is messed up. We need to be aware of how these false narratives are used to divide us and manipulate the conversation. Don't fall for it, and don't let others get away with it. Call out the misinformation when you see it.

Conversation with a Latino MAGA on "Remigration"

The more we talk about policy, the more we see new, ugly words enter the conversation. This week, I had a tough but necessary Live where I spoke with a Latino MAGA supporter about the concept of "Remigration."

We have to understand what this word really means because it's no accident that it's popping up now. Specially since the DHS posted it directly on their X account as a statement.

What is "Remigration"?

  • "Remigration" is a far-right concept born in Europe. It is a euphemism for ethnic cleansing; the mass expulsion of non-white immigrants and their descendants, sometimes including legal residents and citizens, from the place they currently live.

  • The Goal: The aim is to create an ethno-homogenous society. This ideology is a direct link to the Great Replacement Theory, which falsely claims there is a plot to eliminate or replace the white majority population in Western nations.

  • The severity of this term has become undeniable: The Department of Homeland Security recently used the term, tweeting a declaration for immigrants to "remigrate" from the United States. This is a deliberate adoption of white nationalist language by a federal agency.

Why This Matters to Us

These are not just ideas. When powerful individuals and governments adopt this type of language, it moves from a concept to a threat.

We know the horrible tragedies that come from this ideology: the violent attacks on people in places of worship like mosques and synagogues, and the increased, violent deportations of immigrants without due process.

It is critical to continue to educate our familia on these topics. This is how we become informed, aware, and prepared to counter the current administration's tactics. We have to understand the language they use to understand the policies they intend to implement.

ICE Detained Father of Teen Battling Cancer: Judge Rules Detention Was Illegal

This week, we were reminded yet again that the current administration's approach to immigration enforcement has no humanity, only cruelty.

The story of Ruben Torres Maldonado, a Chicago father and dedicated breadwinner whose 16-year-old daughter, Ofelia, is battling Stage 4 cancer, is heartbreaking.

ICE officials detained Ruben, citing minor traffic infractions. The detention ripped him away from his family just when they needed him most. His wife and two US-born children were left in a devastating position, not only losing their sole financial provider but watching as the stress caused by the separation interrupted Ofelia's chemotherapy treatments.

This injustice gained national attention, and thanks to his legal team and community support, we have a major update.

A federal judge ruled that Ruben's detention was illegal and a violation of his due process rights. The judge rightfully saw through the government's claims, noting that Ruben has strong community and family ties and poses no danger.

On Thursday, an immigration judge granted Ruben a $2,000 bond, and his release was scheduled immediately! This is a massive win, not just for the Torres family, but for the principle of justice and due process. Ruben is now eligible to apply for cancellation of removal, allowing him to fight for his permanent residency while being home with his family.

Let this be a reminder: The fact that ICE took this father from his cancer-stricken daughter in the first place, forcing a federal judge to step in, is proof that we are currently living on the wrong side of history. We must continue to fight these inhumane tactics.

Personal Update:

This weekend I had the opportunity of joining a Yes on Prop 50 rally. This is the first rally that I ever join. It was a fun time, and a great experience in general. I met many content creators that I hope to introduce you all to in the near future and some elected officials.

As you all know, because of my undocumented status I am unable to vote. If you can vote and you live in California→ we need you to show up and vote yes on this proposition.

Prop 50 is about evening the playing field and to put a stop to the power grab coming from the Trump administration. We are living on unprecedented times, if this does not pass it could lead to irreparable harm for the foreseeable future.

We are counting on you!
