Saludos compas! Como siempre a few stories from the week are below. Here are some ways to support me:

How can you be peaceful when they are violating your rights?

I was recently talking with my homie Jordan about the ICE protests erupting across the country. There’s a constant, familiar reminder in the media and from city officials: "Keep it peaceful." They say it’s the only way to keep our communities safe and get our point across effectively.

But there is a glaring, dangerous hypocrisy at play.

Time and time again, we are witnessing ICE officers and state officials act completely outside the law. They violate fundamental human rights and inflict systemic violence on our people with zero accountability. It is a rigged game: they are asking one side to play fair while the other side breaks every single rule.

When has real, transformative change ever come from "peace" when the opposition is inherently violent? Revolutions happen because there comes a point where the oppressed must rise up. You cannot appeal to the morality of a corrupt organization that has none. ICE detains people without warrants, ignores constitutional protections, and faces no consequences even when their actions lead to the death of non-violent citizens.

To demand peace from the community while the state maintains a monopoly on violence isn't a call for order; it’s a demand for submission.

Why are th same people asking protestors to be peaceful not demanding the same from the fed agents? #usa #minnesota #ice #immigrants #peace

They Took Their Father Right in Front of Them.

It feels like every day our feeds are flooded with new, heartbreaking footage of families being torn apart. The latest video to go viral is devastating: it shows three young girls sobbing after their father was taken, and images of them watching it happen. He wasn’t a shadow in the night; he was detained in a public, violent manner right outside a courthouse in Los Angeles.

We need to be clear about what we are seeing: these are children being forced to endure life-altering trauma in the most inhumane way possible. And for what?

There has to be a better way than ripping families apart at the roots. There is a deep irony in the fact that many of the people celebrating these "enforcement actions" claim to care about the sanctity of children and the family unit'; but that empathy apparently stops if those children are brown.

We have to remember that humanity must come first. Politics should never be an excuse to traumatize a child. I am currently looking into the best ways to support this specific family; as soon as I have a verified link for their legal defense or a support fund, I will share it with you all.

Last Time the Market Was This Expensive, Investors Waited 14 Years to Break Even

In 1999, the S&P 500 peaked. Then it took 14 years to gradually recover by 2013.

Today? Goldman Sachs sounds crazy forecasting 3% returns for 2024 to 2034.

But we’re currently seeing the highest price for the S&P 500 compared to earnings since the dot-com boom.

So, maybe that’s why they’re not alone; Vanguard projects about 5%.

In fact, now just about everything seems priced near all time highs. Equities, gold, crypto, etc.

But billionaires have long diversified a slice of their portfolios with one asset class that is poised to rebound.

It’s post war and contemporary art.

Sounds crazy, but over 70,000 investors have followed suit since 2019—with Masterworks.

You can invest in shares of artworks featuring Banksy, Basquiat, Picasso, and more.

24 exits later, results speak for themselves: net annualized returns like 14.6%, 17.6%, and 17.8%.*

Inspired by Minnesota

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the courage coming out of Minnesota right now. It has been incredibly inspiring to see so many of the homies putting themselves on the line to support vulnerable communities there. I’ve watched people fly out not just to document what’s happening, but to physically push back against the tide of hate currently sweeping through our country.

For many of us, myself included, showing up in that specific way isn’t an option because of our immigration status. We don’t have the privilege of risking an arrest or a confrontation with the state. Seeing you all step into that gap on our behalf is beautiful.

Thank you for being in the corner of those who need it most. We know this fight is about so much more than just immigration policy; it’s about our shared humanity, the integrity of the Constitution, and the fundamental difference between right and wrong.

Let’s keep pushing.

Updates:

I haven’t shared this much yet, but I am stepping out into the unknown: I’m officially pushing to become a full-time content creator. Since I started this journey, it has been a side project while I worked in education full-time. But our platform has grown beyond anything I could have expected, and I truly believe this work can have a lasting impact.

The reality of independent media is tough. Social media platforms don’t compensate us for the labor of documenting these stories. While we fight to defend humanity in our own way, the other side is backed by the literal federal government. To stay independent and keep telling the truth, I need your help.

If you’d like to support the work I do, you can use the link here to "buy me a coffee." I would especially appreciate any monthly commitments, as that stability allows me to plan for the future. I know money is tight for many of us right now, so if you aren’t able to contribute financially, please don’t feel any pressure; continuing to read, share, and engage with this content is a huge support in itself.
